Willow Grove Downtown Proposals gain support

July 9, 2009

During a meeting in May, the plan for downtown Willow Grove was presented and apparently received general support.  Some concerns were raised about the housing to be built which is intended for students at local colleges.  The concerns were that if the students didn’t materialize that the units would be low income housing and breeding grounds for crime.

I wonder if anyone contacted the local colleges and asked them if they would actively support students living in this location?

Bill limiting air traffic at Willow Grove Naval Air Station

July 9, 2009

Significant progress has been made in making sure that commercial air traffic will not become a annoyance at the base.  The bill, already approved by the state senate, has gained approval by the house.  However, there was an amendment to allow the Delaware Valley Historical Aircraft Association to remain on the base.  This will cause the bill to need to go back to the senate for a final approval.

When the base changes ownership, it will be known as the Horsham Joint Interagency Installation.
