Willow Grove 300 – Broadcasts of Lectures

The following programs held by the Willow Grove 300 will be available for viewing on the Township’s cable channels (Comast, Channel #965 and Verizon, Channel #41) on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. and again at 7:30 p.m.

  • August 9, 12 & 14 Willow Grove Park (Lecture by David Rowland)
  • August 16, 19 & 21 Manor of Moreland to 1887 (Lecture by Mildred Wintz)

Loyalty Day Parade returning to Willow Grove on Saturday, May 1, 2011

Although a Loyalty Day Parade hasn’t been in Upper Moreland for at least a decade, the former event is making a comeback on May 1st and kicking off Willow Grove’s Tri-Centennial celebration.

Although most township residents probably don’t know that Nicholas More of England, bought 100,000 acres of property from William Penn in 1681 that would form the Manor of More and eventually Upper Moreland, Millie Wintz does.

Willow Grove 300, a name of an event that will be talked about frequently was mentioned formally in public for the first time.

On May 29th, the Willow Grove Tri-Centennial Steering Committee began its roll out of the vision of the anniversary.   The roll out was held in the meeting room at the Giant Supermarket in Willow Grove and was well attended.

The Willow Grove 300 event is being scheduled to run from May 1, 2011 through June 5, 2011. (more…)
