Upper Moreland presents its draft of “Revitalization Plan 2012”

The updated draft of the Revitalization Plan for Upper Moreland Township has just been released.  A meeting to discuss this plan is scheduled to be held by the Revitalization Task force on January 25th at 7:00 PM EST.  The plan will also be discussed at the Community Development Committee Meeting on February 13th at 7:00 PM EST.

Upper Moreland Commissioners discusses more change orders

It now looks as though the half million dollars of change orders approved last month for the Memorial Park Drive Project are not the end of the road.  There is now an additional $140,000 of change orders in the pipeline as well as other irregularities in the work already performed.

The following are highlights from the committee meetings.  Please refer to the Upper Moreland Township web site for complete and official minutes.

Finance & Administrative Committee

• Vote to approve the appointment of Nick Scull to the Advisory Planning Agency to fill a term to expire on June 1, 2011 was rejected.
• Vote to approve the appointment of John Fern to the Zoning Hearing Borad to complete the remainder of a term to expire on December 31, 2013 was passed.

Community Development Committee

• Resolution R-2009-37 to set a date for a public hearing to consider an ordinance related to EPA regulations was passed. The hearing date is March 1, 2010 at 7:00pm.
• Resolution R-2009-38 to set a date for a public hearing to consider an ordinace to change to zoning and SALDO sections of the Township code was passed. The hearing date is March 1, 2010 at 7:15pm.

Upper Moreland Board takes steps to move Willow Grove train station

The Board of Commissioners of Upper Moreland Township is taking steps to relocate Willow Grove train station. The commissioners will seek a $60,000 grant through the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission for a study to move the train station across the street.  If the grant is secured, the Township would have to pay a $15,000 match for two years.
