Upper Moreland approves several ordinances

Upper Moreland’s Commissioners approved a set of ordinances dealing to:

• Revise the number of members and non-voting affiliate members on the Environmental Advisory Council
• Exempt home improvement contractors from township licensing requirements and eliminate card and bumper sticker licenses
• Amend zoning ordinance to allow with exceptions reuse of commercial space in the Town Center district without a conditional use hearing
• Allow feed for use of pavilions and Safety Town at Masons Mill Park
• Revise towing and storage fees charged by private towing companies authorized to remove vehicles for parking and other violations

Tax Increases for Upper Moreland Residents in Preliminary Budget

A special meeting to be held on February 19th to adopt the preliminary budget that would see an increase in real  estate taxes for 2013-2014.  The Meeting is schedued to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Teaching/Learning Center at the Intermediate School.

• Tara Durkin of Horsham was arrested on December 23, 2012 for driving under the influence of alcohol.
• Crystal Thomas of Willow Grove was charged with Fleeing and Eluding on January 3^rd, 2013.
• Sarah Jane Fasy of Philadelphia was charged with DUI Controlled Substances on January 3^rd, 2013.

 

Navy seeks input on Willow Grove environmental impact statement

Now that a redevelopment plan is in place, the Navy is seeking input for an environmental impact statement.  Key issues to be addressed include how the project will affect the area including traffic, water and air quality, and noise.

Navy to hold meetings on Willow Grove Air Base

The U.S. Navy is scheduling two meetings to allow residents to voice their concerns over the disposal and reuse of the former Willow Grove Air Base.  Meetings are to held on December 13th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
